Accessibility Statement

This website was built with accessibility in mind from the start rather than added on afterwards. In practice that means:

• Text and background colours are chosen to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast guidance, so copy stays readable.
• Every meaningful image carries descriptive alternative text for screen readers.
• Headings follow a logical order so the structure of a page makes sense when read out or navigated by keyboard.
• The site can be navigated with a keyboard, there is a skip-to-content link, and focus is shown clearly as you move through the page.
• Menus and interactive controls are labelled for assistive technology, and the site respects a reduced-motion preference by turning animation off.
• The layout adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, and text can be enlarged by the browser without breaking the page.

No website is ever perfectly accessible, and we would rather be honest about that than claim otherwise. The service-area map on our contact page is provided by a third party (OpenStreetMap). We describe the service area in text alongside it, but the map control itself is outside our direct control, and how any data is handled is covered in our privacy policy. Some older documents or embedded content may not always meet the same standard as the rest of the site. We keep reviewing these areas and improve them as we go.

The site was checked against the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines during the build, covering colour contrast, alternative text, heading order, keyboard navigation and form labelling. Accessibility is not a one-off task, so we continue to review the site as we add to it.
